You can now switch on manual ordering for the posts assigned to a category, giving you full control over exactly how they're arranged, rather than relying on automatic ordering by publish date or the general settings.
Enable manual ordering for a category
To use this:
Open the category you want to edit in the Manager.
Enable the Manual ordering toggle in the collapsible Manual ordering panel.
Once switched on, drag posts into your preferred order.

Filter posts
You can filter which posts you're ordering using the tabs at the top of the panel: All, Pages, Events, Appeals, Blog, News and FAQs.
Each tab shows you how many posts are in that view, and your ordering choices are remembered separately for each one. So you could, for example, set a custom order for your Appeals while leaving your News posts on automatic ordering.
Posts are shown 12 at a time, with a Load more button if you have more to order. Once you're happy with the arrangement, click Update on the category to save your changes: the new order is saved at the same time as the rest of your category details.
If you only reorder some of your posts, anything you haven't moved will keep its position based on publish date. This means you can nudge a handful of posts to the top without needing to manually place every single post in the list.
Once saved, your chosen order is reflected on your live site: any posts you've manually positioned will appear in that order, with any remaining posts continuing to display by publish date, newest first.
📌 Note: In the Manager, the manual ordering section for Appeals displays all Appeals, including individual fundraiser pages. On your live site, applying manual ordering adds a new tab called All Appeals to your Appeals category page, and your manual order is applied only within this tab. Your existing Current Appeals and Fundraisers page is unaffected and will continue to display as it does today.
