Understanding the Add / Update Page Options
'What sort of page is this?'
Pages, News, Blogs, Events, FAQs, Appeals
These are the main platform modules. Select News if you want a specific News item or News listing.
📌 Note: If you choose one of these modules, only posts from the module you select will appear in any listing. If you want different modules to appear select All types - listing page instead.
Fundraisers, In memory of
'Fundraisers' and 'In memory of' are appeal types. The same rule as above applies, as only posts with the appeal type selected will show up.
Application page
These are for special types of pages used in setting up your site, such as Contact, Site Map, Shop and Home. You shouldn't need to use this option.
Hyper link
This allows you to set up a link to any internal or external URL.
Forms
This allows you to create a menu item for any forms you have created within the Forms module.
Subsites
Links to a subsite, if you have them enabled.
All types - Listing page
If you want a listing page that includes posts from different modules choose this one.
'And what will it display?'
Where a module is selected in the first dropdown you will have some or all of the following options:
A listing of posts created in that module.
A specific post from that module. You can select the one you want, as these are listed individually.
Create a post (available only on some modules). Use this if you want to create a menu option where visitors to your site are able to create content within that module. This is most likely to be used for Blogs or Fundraisers.
📌 Note: If the module selected is Blogs, an extra box will appear for you to choose which Blog group the menu item is for. If Hyperlink or All types listing is chosen this box isn't shown as it isn't needed.
'Category Filter' and 'Tag Filter'
If you are creating a listing page, you are also able to restrict the posts shown by adding a category or tags to them.
If you leave this setting at 'Please select a category' then all posts from the selected module will show up in the listing.
'Web page title'
This is the text that will appear on your menu.
