Remove members from the platform

Follow these steps to remove members and their data from the platform.

If you receive a request from a supporter to remove their account form your site, your Platform Administrators can do this.

  1. Click People then Members.

  2. Click the supporter you wish to anonymise.

  3. Click Anonymise member, then enter the member’s email address.

  4. Click Confirm.

This sends a notification email to the address set up as the platform contact email.

⚠️ Warning: This process is permanent, and you’ll not be able to retrieve the data later. The member can sign up again, but their new data won’t link to their old data.

The data will not be completely removed but all links to the owner will disappear.


As an example, if the user you are about to anonymise made a donation, this will not disappear from the donation lists or reports but it will appear to have been made by an 'Anonymised user'.
