Comments and Donation Notes

This article explains how to allow, hide and change comments, feature comments made with donations and anonymise donations.

There are two different types of comments used on the platform, which are explained below.

Comments left by General Visitors

These can be switched on or off through the manager by module.

To find the toggle for this:

  1. Click Settings, then Set-Up.

  2. Click Comments and Reviews.

To enable or disable these general comments, select or clear the relevant check box and update the settings.

If you'd like to remove only specific comments:

  1. Go to the module of the post where the comment was made.

  2. Select the Comments section.

  3. Click the comment and put in the Rejected status.


Comments left with donations

These are collected when someone makes a donation to your appeal and are shown at the bottom of the Appeal page. There will also be a check box for permission to display the name of the donor with their donation.

You can switch the comments section on or off for each appeal.
Open the appeal in the manager and expand the Show/hide elements tab.
Here you will find a checkbox called Show comments on the Appeal page.


To remove a comment made with a donation you need to:

  1. Click Appeals, then List.

  2. Against the Appeal where the comment appears, click Raised online amount.

    • This will bring up a list of all donations together with any comments made.

  3. Click the Edit pencil icon to the right of the comment you need to change.

  4. Make any changes you would like.

  5. If you don't want the name of the person donating to appear, you can also select the Private Donation check box.

  6. Click Update payment.

    • This won't change any payment information, only the record that is kept on the platform.
