Customise the donation confirmation email
You can customise the confirmation email sent to donors for individual appeals.
To customise the donation confirmation email:
Select the appeal from the List in the Appeal module.
Click Custom donation confirmation email to expand the section.
Enter the email subject in the Subject field. This field is mandatory; if it is left blank, the custom email will not be sent.
Add your email content using the WYSIWYG editor. The editor includes a Dynamic Fields dropdown, which allows you to personalise the email for each donor. For example, adding the Donor first name field will automatically display the donor’s first name in the email.
When you have finished, click Update to save your changes.
Important information
Adding a custom confirmation email to an individual appeal will override both appeal confirmation email templates configured under Default emails in Settings.
Dynamic fields
Dynamic fields allow you to automatically include information specific to the donation or donor in the confirmation email.
Dynamic field | What it displays |
Appeal name | The title of the appeal |
Donor first name | The donor’s first name |
Donor last name | The donor’s last name |
Donation | The value of the donation |
Platform Organisation Name | The name of your organisation |
Organisation Address | The address of your organisation |
Date | The date the message is sent |
txCode | A unique transaction reference for the payment |
Name | The name of the user the email is addressed to |
Appeal Title | The title of the appeal |
Billing Address | The billing address submitted by the donor |
Payment Type | The brand of the card or payment provider used |
Contact Link | A link to your contact page |
Gift Aid | If the donation is eligible for Gift Aid, a confirmation line will be added to the email |
