Claims can now be submitted without the need to download and upload spreadsheets to the HMRC portal.
What will I be able to do with the Gift Aid submission feature?
Enter your HMRC login credentials via the Manager.
View how many donations are eligible for Gift Aid.
View an estimation of how much you can expect to get from your claim.
Download and check the data of your claim before submitting.
Make your claim directly to HMRC.
Where will I find this feature on my website?
The Gift Aid submission feature can be found within the Integrations module in the Manager.
When users make a donation they may tick the Gift Aid box to enable your organisation to receive more money. This feature pulls together the data around an individual and how much Gift Aid you can claim from their donation.
Some corrections can be made, for example when a postcode is in lowercase, we will automatically fix this so that it is in the HMRC preferred format of uppercase.
Similarly, where the space has not been entered by the donor, we will enter a space so that it fits with HMRC’s strict criteria.
Known limitations
There are some elements we are unable to fix at this stage, such as if a typo has been made and the number 5 has been entered instead of an S, or a 3 instead of an E.
We are also unable to remove any donations that have been refunded or voided for any reason as we do not currently receive this information from Stripe.
If you notice any records in the submission data that need to be removed, you will need to do this manually and submit your claim using the HMRC portal.
What happens to the data you are unable to verify?
Any donations that we are unable to correct or verify we will add to a separate record that you are able to view and download. These can be found under the heading ‘List’ beneath the Gift Aid menu.
You can check and correct these where necessary and make a submission manually via the HMRC portal.
