RSS feeds

Learn how to create an RSS feed for your website.

Written by Cristiana Ghinea

An RSS feed is a tool which lets people view the latest content from your site. The Access Charity Websites contain built in RSS feeds for the homepage and listing pages.

Homepage / Full Website RSS feed

Find the RSS feed for your homepage

You can find the RSS feed for your homepage by adding /handlers/rss.ashx? to the end of your full URL.

For example: http://www.yourdomain.org.uk/handlers/rss.ashx?

Find your full RSS feed

You can find your full RSS feed by adding /handlers/rss.ashx?feed=1 to the end of your URL.

For example: http://www.yourdomain.org.uk/handlers/rss.ashx?feed=1

The full feed covers all RSS-eligible items on your site, including the RSS feed of the homepage.

To filter the RSS by pages and a category, you'll need to add an extra string onto the end of the URL.

Listings page and blog group RSS feeds

You can find the RSS feed for listing pages on your site by adding/handlers/rss.ashx?feed=1&IDModule=[Module ID]&IDCategory=[Category ID]&IDBlogGroup=[The ID of the blogGROUP] to the end of your full URL and replacing the text in italics with the relevant IDs.

📌 Note: If a blog group or listing page isn't using a category you don't need to add the &IDCategory=[Category ID] section.

The &IDBlogGroup=[The ID of the blogGROUP] section only needs to be added to the URL if you want the RSS feed of a blog group / category and can be found by following the instructions below:

Blog Group IDs

  1. Click Blog, then Blog groups, then List in the Manager.

  2. Select the relevant blog group from the list.

  3. On the blog group page, find the string of letters and numbers in the URL after IDBlogGroup=. This is the blog group ID.

    • For example: dc2a6606-bd61-4586-b64e-4436212bbe51.

Category IDs

  1. Click Settings, then Categories, then List in the Manager.

  2. Select the relevant category from the list.

  3. On the category page, find the string of letters and numbers in the URL following idPost=. This is the category ID.

    • For example: 0791cb94-6d24-4069-9a79-595e3714fdd6.
